the sounds of the distant drum
wash away from the soul
the dust of everyday life
J'Rombe (D'jembe)
The ultimate in hand percussion. Based on the West African D'jembe.
Handcarved from locally available timbers, its tones range from earth
shaking low to sharp slaps. All from the one drum!
Cut from a solid log, then stretched with goat hide. A J'Rombe
is a drum for life. (Stands sold separately)
"I work to the size the log allows, rather than standard measurements.
You can call it big, medium and small. I especially like it when
someone wants a carving incorporated into the drum."
Small D'jembe
Like J'Rombe drums only smaller.
They have the same dynamic
sound range only not as big.
Prices start at AU$550
DunDun
Two double-ended drums stacked on each other. Played with mallets.
Easy to transport with trolley and mallets included. Sounds great with J'Rombe
Drums.
I have included prices here, though I
feel
it does not truly reflect my vision for this site.
I consider each handcrafted instrument as an
individual work of art, and prices vary…
…as does the price of gold.
